Masters of the Old West….Early October, Lake McArthur…..by Terri Kelly Moyers…..oil on canvas….One of those stunningly simple, but superb paintings that, upon brief reflection, you whisper to your brain, “Hey, I could’ve painted that!”…..And your brain whispers back, “Are you kiddin’ me?? Really, you’re joking here, no?”….And then you whisperingly respond, “Yah, you’re right, brain, this is one awesome painting! Who was I trying to kid?…Other than myself, I guess.”

Young Woman in a Boat…James Tissot…1870….Thanks to dobedobedo (who just happens to have a magnificent site….I wonder if she planned it that way?)….Love this painting more than life itself…..oh, there I go with my tendency to over-praise….there’s a term for that, but, having just downed a delightful dinner avec vials of vino (sounds good, don’t you think?), I haven’t a clue what that term is….I’ll look it up tomorrow after my delightful breakfast avec vials of vino….well, after lunch perhaps??

My God, she killed all of the Merry-go-Round horses looking for her damned bird!….And that was the only merry-go-round for fifty miles…..Heaven knows how many young children (or immature adults who like to act like young children) will have their hearts broken by this, will just collapse and die (or at least not be themselves ever again)….All because she had to take that damn bird for a walk…..the bird seeing his free-floating comrade birds flitting here and there, from tree to tree to telephone line….driving the bird crazy and shooting enough adrenaline through the bird’s tiny system that it turned into SuperBird and crashed it’s way out of the cage’s main gate…..Bird’s probably crushed under one of the fallen carousel horses, making the tragedy of it all all that more profound!…..or something like that.
